Pre-Care

How to Prepare for your Skin or Laser Appointment

Skin Services

  • Please plan to avoid strenuous activity or heavy sweating for 48-72 hours after your service.

  • Avoid the sun.

  • Avoid any form of hair removal (shaving, waxing, laser, etc.) 7-14 days prior.

  • Discontinue any topical Retin-A, Differin, and any products containing Retinol, BHAs, or AHAs at least 3 days prior

  • Do not exfoliate within 7 days of your peel.

  • Wear something comfortable to your appointment

  • #DrinkYourWaterSis (You too, Bro)– Your water intake should be at least half your body weight in ounces.

Laser Services

  • A broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen of 50 SPF or higher should be applied whenever area to be treated is exposed to the sun. This practice should continue between treatments and following your last treatment for at least 6 weeks. This can prevent post treatment complications such as hyper-pigmentation, or hypo-pigmentation.

  • DO NOT use self-tanning products for at least 4 weeks prior to laser treatment.

  • DO NOT use Retin-A or Renova one week prior to laser treatment.

  • DO NOT take Accutane for at least 2 months prior to laser treatment.

  • DO NOT take Aspirin for several days before treatment in order to avoid purpura/ bruising
  • DO NOT carry out other hair removal treatments (waxing, tweezers, electric epilators) or bleaching hair for at least 1 month before the first treatment. Regular shaving is fine

  • The area should be shaved 24-48 hours prior to treatment.If hair is fine and no shadow can be seen after shaving, it is a good idea to take a photo of unshaven area to show technician

  • DO NOT wear make-up, deodorant, perfumes or powder on the areas to be treated

  • Plan to avoid tight elastic at the leg opening following bikini treatments

  • If you have a history of oral herpes (fever blisters/ sores) and are having your mouth area treated, you will need to have your physician prescribe suppressive therapy and take as directed

Post Care

What to Do After your Skin or Laser Appointment

Skin Treatments

  • Skip your nighttime routine, unless instructed otherwise. We want your skin to receive all the goodness from your service today. (Unless told otherwise)

  • No makeup for 24 hours. For Advanced treatments No makeup for 5-7 days.

  • Avoid exfoliation for the next 5 days, unless told otherwise. This includes AHAs, BHAs, and retinol products

  • Reschedule your workout. Avoid strenuous activity/sweating for 2 days

  • Start fresh! Change out your pillowcases, clean your reusable masks/dispose of single use masks daily, make sure your makeup brushes/skin tools are cleaned and sanitized

  • Remember your SPF (a minimum of 30)
  • Stay hydrated

  • No hair removal of any kind (shaving, waxing, laser, etc.) for 7-14 days.

  • Refrain from any strenuous activity or heavy sweating for 48-72 hours.

  • Do not pick or pull at your skin, as this can lead to scarring. Allow it to slough off or shed naturally.

  • Resume your Pigment inhibitor (Even Tone Corrective Serum) after 24 hours

  • Resume your nighttime retinoid (if applicable) after 5 days, unless otherwise instructed. Discontinue use of retinol 72 hours prior to your next treatment

  • #DrinkYourWaterSis (You too, Bro) –Increase your water intake to at least half your body weight in ounces

  • Sun Protection is mandatory. A minimum of SPF 30 is required
